The large A6 card box, 12,6 x 12,6 x 3,8/7,2 cm. It is the square one: the A5 boxes are oblong and hold cards lying long, this holds a square stack, which is what most three part card sets actually are once they are cut. The two heights in the last measurement are the box itself, lower at the front than at the back, so the top card can be read and taken without lifting the stack out. Cards are not included and the other sizes are separate items.
“The senses, being explorers of the world, open the way to knowledge.”
In Montessori education, the organization and presentation of materials is fundamental to the child's development of order, concentration, and independence.
This wooden storage box embodies Maria Montessori's principle that 'the environment itself will teach the child.' By providing a designated, beautiful container for Sensorial activity cards, we honor the child's sensitive period for order (ages 2-4) and create opportunities for purposeful movement. The open-top design respects the child's need for accessibility while the natural wood connects them to authentic materials. The precision construction models care and attention to detail, indirectly preparing the child to handle all materials with respect. This organizational tool supports the Sensorial area's goal of refining the senses through systematic exploration, as children can independently select, use, and return activity cards, building executive function and self-discipline.

Follow the Montessori method of presentation for optimal child development.
Place the box at child's eye level on a low shelf in the Sensorial area. Arrange activity cards vertically inside, organized by difficulty or sensorial concept. Ensure cards are oriented consistently with images/text facing forward.
Demonstrate slow, deliberate movements when selecting a card, using thumb and index finger
Show how to carry one card with two hands to the work space
After completing the activity, demonstrate returning the card to its exact position
Invite the child to choose and return a card independently
