Bells Staff Board

The Bells Staff Board carries the staff on which a child places notes for the tones just heard from the bells. A bell is struck, the tone is held in the ear and the note is set on the line or space that answers to it, until a short row can be played back from the board itself. Sound comes first and the written sign follows, so notation arrives as a record of something the ear already knows rather than a rule to memorise.
