Buckling Frame

Buckling Frame isolates a single fastening so the child can practise it without the distraction of getting dressed at the same time. Sitting with the frame square in front of them, the child works the buckles open one at a time and then closes them again in the same order, unhurried and with no adult hands in the way. Opening and closing the buckles builds finger strength, refines the pincer grip and fixes the order of the movements. The skill then transfers straight to shoes, belts and school bags. Offered in the practical life area from about three years.
