A beechwood storage box that gives the cut-out numerals a fixed, protected place between exercises. Thin printed numerals stay crisp when they are lifted from their own box rather than fished out of a drawer of loose parts; the child finds them ready, works, and returns them to the same place, and that returning is itself part of the number work. Beech with a plywood base, approx. 15 x 7 x 10 cm. The cut-out numerals are sold separately.

How to present it
Follow the Montessori method of presentation for optimal child development.
Place the box on a low shelf at the child's eye level. Ensure cut-out or printed numerals are arranged in sequence (0-9) within compartments. Have a work mat available nearby.

Invite the child to carry the box carefully with two hands to a work mat
Model slow, deliberate movements to emphasize care and respect - 2
Open the lid smoothly and place it under the box

Remove numerals one at a time, naming each as you place them in sequence on the mat
Use consistent language: 'This is one' rather than 'This is the number one' - 4
