Division Working Charts take the same graded path as the other operations, here for sharing out: the first chart shows every quotient, the later ones withhold more, until the child divides without looking anything up. Division is the last of the four operations to become automatic, and the charts give it the slow, repeated practice it needs without an adult standing over the work. The child checks every answer, so the material stays in the child's hands. For children from three years who have already divided with concrete material.
