Geometric Form Cards, Blue & Yellow

Geometric Form Cards, Blue & Yellow show the same geometric shapes in two colours, which the child pairs, sorts and lays out on a mat. The two colours make the matching honest, because a shape has to be found again by its outline alone and colour can no longer stand in for form. Sorting the pairs into families of related figures comes next, and the names are given only once the eye picks them out without hesitating. The work moves shape recognition from the hand into the eye: a square is told from a rectangle by looking, and the names follow once the eye is sure. A sensorial bridge towards geometry for children from three to six years.
