Multiple shape puzzle set asks the toddler to hold more than one shape in mind at a time and decide which opening belongs to which piece. Every piece comes out first and goes back one at a time, turned in the fingers until it drops into place. The puzzle corrects the child without a word: a piece that does not belong simply will not sit. Lifting, turning and releasing in this way builds the pincer grip and the wrist rotation a pencil will later ask for. It follows the single shape puzzles and belongs to the first sorting work of children under three.
