One Golden Bead Cube Of 1000Individual Beads Nylon

One Golden Bead Cube of 1000 gathers a thousand nylon beads into a block of ten by ten by ten, which a child lifts with both hands and whose weight is felt at once. Laid out in order beside a unit bead, a ten bar and a hundred square, it shows that every category is ten of the one before, and a child can count along an edge to prove it instead of taking it on trust. The jump between the decimal categories becomes a physical fact rather than a rule to memorise. Part of the decimal system work from about three years.
