What the child does
Plastic Number Cards in a child's hands
Small Number Cards 1-9000 give every hierarchy its own colour, from units through tens and hundreds to thousands. The child lays 3000, 400, 50 and 6 beside each other, slides the cards together and reads 3456, and what a written number hides stops being a mystery. The small set is the child's working set and is used alongside the large cards in the classic decimal system presentations. For 3 to 6 year olds building numbers into the thousands.
