Printed AlphabetPrint, Blue

Printed Alphabet: Print, Blue gives the child letters in printed form, the same shapes that later wait in books and on signs. A word is sounded out first and then laid down letter by letter, so a child can spell long before the hand is steady enough to write, and reading the row back aloud is what shows whether a sound was missed. Laid out on a mat, the letters can be matched, sorted and built into first words, so reading grows out of handling rather than out of instruction. Language material from three to six years and a natural partner to the sandpaper letters, where the same sounds were first traced with a finger.
