Rings on a Horizontal Dowel is the step that follows the upright peg: because the dowel lies sideways, gravity no longer does the work and the child has to push each ring along and keep it there. The movement crosses the midline of the body and asks both hands to cooperate, one steadying the stand while the other threads. Rings come off as easily as they go on, so the exercise repeats for as long as the child's attention holds. For children under three who already place rings on a vertical dowel.
“Education is a natural process spontaneously carried out by the human individual, and is acquired not by listening to words but by experiences upon the environment.”
