Small Bead Frame in a child's hands
Small Bead Frame stands the decimal system upright: units, tens, hundreds and thousands, each hierarchy on its own wire and in its own colour. Working a sum bead by bead, the child runs out of beads on one wire and has to exchange them for a single bead on the next, so carrying is discovered rather than taught. The frame is the bridge between bead material on the mat and figures written in a notebook. For children from 3 to 6 who add and subtract with the decimal material.
If you are not sure it suits your child, we answer in person.
