Small Bead Frame

Small Bead Frame stands the decimal system upright: units, tens, hundreds and thousands, each hierarchy on its own wire and in its own colour. Working a sum bead by bead, the child runs out of beads on one wire and has to exchange them for a single bead on the next, so carrying is discovered rather than taught.
