Stamp Game

The Stamp Game moves arithmetic from bulky bead material onto small colour-coded tiles, each one standing for a unit, a ten, a hundred or a thousand. Laying out a number, exchanging ten tiles for one of the next order and carrying the result across is exactly what a written algorithm does, except that here it stays visible on the table. Made for the three to six age group, it covers addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with a single set.
