A bed with a rail all the way round and a door, which is also a place to play: the mattress rests low to the ground, raised just enough to let it air, so going to bed is a step rather than a climb, and the evening ends in entering a place of one's own. The door hands the child control over being inside or outside, which is half the work with a first bed after the cot. The 160x80 size carries the toddler years without another change. The grey finish is muted, so the frame does not shout and leaves the room to toys and textiles.
