Zipping Frame

The Zipping Frame isolates a single everyday fastening, so a child can master the zip on its own before meeting it on a jacket. Worked flat on a table or mat, it is opened from the top down and closed again, and the two sides falling apart or lying flat tell the child at once whether the slider was really engaged. Pulling the slider up and down builds finger strength, a precise pincer grip and the patience to see a sequence through to the end. A classic practical life exercise from age three, and a genuine step towards dressing without help.
