Smooth Gradation Board

The Smooth Gradation Board grades surfaces from coarser to finer, so the sorting is done by the fingertips and not by the eyes. A child slides a light hand along each strip, usually blindfolded, and puts the sensations into a series from one end to the other. The order is checked by touching back along the finished row, feeling whether every step really is smoother than the one before it.
