Tempera Paint - Premium: Dark Blue
Made by Nienhuis Montessori · shipped by Heutink International (Netherlands) About the maker
Premium tempera paint in dark blue, 500 ml, from the range mixed to the colours of the Montessori materials. Dark blue is the third primary and the busiest blue in the room: the geometric insets, the blue half of the number rods, nine in the bead material. It is also the colour that shows a thin coat, so it teaches a child to load a brush properly. Water based, water soluble, short drying time. The other colours in the range are separate items.
“Free the child's potential, and you will transform him into the world.”
The Tempera Paint in Dark Blue serves as a fundamental tool for artistic exploration within the Montessori prepared environment.
- Fine motor control through squeezing paint bottles and brush manipulation
- Color theory understanding through mixing dark blue with other hues
- Hand-eye coordination when applying paint to specific areas
- Concentration development through focused artistic work

This rich blue pigment enables children to experience color as a concrete material that responds to their movements and choices. The flip-top dispensing bottle transforms paint distribution into an exercise in precision and control, allowing children to squeeze exactly the amount needed for their work. Through manipulating this tempera paint, children discover cause and effect as they observe how pressure affects flow, how blue interacts with other colors, and how their brush movements create different textures. The dark blue shade specifically offers experiences in color gradation when mixed with white or black, teaching children about value and intensity. This premium tempera paint addresses the child's need for sensorial exploration while building the hand strength and coordination essential for later writing activities.
