The Brown StairClear Lacquer

The Brown Stair in clear lacquer keeps the grain of the wood visible while the prisms do their usual work: every prism is the same length and differs only in thickness. Building the stair from the thickest piece to the thinnest, a child compares two dimensions at once and lives through a regular series long before anyone names it in numbers. If a prism is set in the wrong place the step from one to the next stops being even, and the eye catches the mistake without a word from an adult. From three years, and on the mat a natural partner to the Pink Tower.
