The Geometric Solids

The Geometric Solids put the third dimension into a child's hand: holding a sphere, a cone or a cube tells more than any drawing on paper. Rolling them, standing them up and stacking them reveals which surface is curved and which is flat, and the names follow once the fingers already know the form. A common way in is to work blindfold and let the hand alone decide whether a form will roll, slide or stand, an answer the solid proves the moment it is set back on the table. Sensorial work from three years that geometry builds on years later.
