The first year follows a clear sequence, and this gift mirrors it. A newborn works with the eyes first: the black-and-white contrast of the Munari mobile, the shine of the octahedra, the colour gradients of the Gobbi and the light dancers take turns in the order in which vision matures. Around the fourth month, the hands take over. The bell on a ribbon rewards the first intentional touch with sound, and the object permanence box later shows that things persist even out of sight. The play gym carries the whole sequence: mobiles are hung one after another, and the basket of balls waits for the first sitting. One gift, twelve months of focused work.
