Because every triangle is the same, the only thing that can vary is how they are arranged, and that is what turns them into a study of equivalency, congruency and similarity: two arrangements can cover the same area without looking alike, and a child can prove it by rebuilding one into the other. Twelve is also enough to reach shapes a child could not have predicted. Painted and natural wood, for ages 3 to 6.
