Two three piece puzzles: one of circle, square and triangle, and one of three circles in different sizes. The pairing is the design. The first puzzle asks a toddler to tell shapes apart, the second asks them to tell sizes apart within one shape, and doing both back to back is how a child learns that things can differ in more than one way at a time. Three pieces is a length of work a one year old can finish, which is why they finish it repeatedly. Painted wood, for ages 0 to 3.

Place one puzzle board on a low table or work mat. Set the corresponding knobbed pieces in a basket to the right of the board. Ensure the work surface is at the child's elbow height when seated.

- 3Gently lower the piece into various spaces until finding the correct fit
